PESHAWAR, June 5: Pakistan Army claimed the 41st National Gymnastics Championship held at Army Physical and Training School Kakul, Abbottabad. Army kept its supremacy by bagging six gold medals while Wapda remained at second position with one gold medal and Punjab took third position in the overall standing.
Army’s gymnast Syed Saif-ud-Din stole the show by creating a new national record by collecting eight gold medals where in the senior event, Saif got three gold in individual and one as team winner.
Saif also won three gold medals in Junior U-18 without team event gold medal and was declared best Gymnast of the Championship.
On the third day of the event, Pakistan Army got five gold medals, three silver medals and two bronze, Pakistan Wapda got one gold medal, four silver medals, and three bronze medals, Pak Railway got only one bronze medal.
Syed Saif-ud-din of Army was declared best gymnast and Khalid Mehmood also of Army was adjudged second best gymnast with 46.20 points.
Syed Saif-ud-Din of Pakistan Army in Floor Display, Pommel Horse, and Parallel Bars showed perfect jumping and accuracy with his extra ordinary skill.
