PESHAWAR, June 5: The government of Xinjiang Uigur Autonomous Region of China has invited the Pakistan-China Friendship Association, NWFP, to attend the golden jubilee celebrations of the region in October. The invitation was extended by Deputy Secretary-General of the People’s Government of Xinjiang Yusup Hasim at a banquet hosted in honour of a visiting delegation of the association in Urumqi, said a press release issued here on Sunday.

The delegation was invited by the foreign affairs office of Kashgar government to attend the first South and Central Asia Trade and Commodities Fair. It also attended the South Xinjiang International Tourism Festival, 2005.

The delegation led by the chairman of the association’s NWFP chapter Qazi Shamsuddin also included NWFP Local Government Minister Sardar Mohammad Idrees.—APP
