KARACHI, June 5: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has said that the ruling PML, PML-F, MQM and other coalition partners will field joint candidates in the coming local bodies elections, and predicted a clean sweep by these candidates.

Addressing a rally in Manghopir here on Saturday, he said that with the elevation of Nadir Akmal Leghari to the post of PML Sindh’s secretary general, grouping within the PML had come to an end and conspiracies against it were over.

He expressed his confidence that the party would achieve a new milestone under the leadership of PML chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz.

On this occasion, the chief minister announced that all genuine goths and villages would be regularized. However, he warned, no one would be allowed to encroach upon the government lands. He said that the villages of Gadap Town would be provided water through Hub Dam or some other source. He also pledged adequate health care facilities for the local population.

Dr Arbab asked the DCO Karachi to shift the office of Mukhtiarkar of Gadap to the town.
