QUETTA, June 4: The Pakistan Muslim League has decided to resolve the problems being faced by the PML MPAs, who have expressed their anguish against the MMA ministers’ attitude. The PML parliamentary party meeting held here on Saturday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Jam Yousuf was attended by 24 PML provincial lawmakers.
It was observed that the issues raised by party MPAs were genuine and steps should be taken to resolve them especially in view of the forthcoming local council elections.
Sources said that at the meeting issues including party affairs, next year’s budget, public sector development programme, attitude of the MMA with PML MPAs and relations with other coalition partners were discussed.
The chief minister assured the members of the parliamentary party that the government would try to resolve their problems.
The sources said that PML lawmakers reposed confidence in the leadership of Mr Yousuf and dispelled the impression of any differences within the party.
PML provincial general-secretary Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhel, while briefing newsmen about the meeting, said that the PML group discussed all the issues in detail and Mr Yousuf assured them that steps would be taken to resolve their problems.
He said that the PML group informed the parliamentary leader about their reservations regarding previous and the new public sector development programme.
Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Mir Abdul Rehman Jamali said that the strategy for the forthcoming local council elections also came under discussion and it was decided that nazims of all the 27 districts of Balochistan would be appointed as administrators before the polls.
