Impressive start by Pakistanis


ISLAMABAD, June 2: All Pakistani junior players started their campaign in an impressive way when all of them except Nasir Iqbal won their respective matches in the Junior squash being played in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Nasir was defeated by Danish Atlas in straight sets with the score of 9-2, 9-1 and 9-3.

According to details provided by Pakistan Squash Federation all the 8 junior players showed tremendous performance and advanced for the quarterfinals.

Results (2nd round):

Under-11: Bilal Zakir (Pak) bt Neo Ho Hau (Mal) 9-0, 9-1, 9-0; Moin Rauf (Pak) bt M Ahdi (Mal) 9-1, 9-0, 9-0.

Under-13: Danish Atlas (Pak) bt Nasir Iqbal (Pak) 9-2, 9-1, 9-3.

Under-15 Farhan Zaman (Pak) bt Shoib Ahmad (Ind) 9-1, 9-0, 9-2,. Nousherwan (Pak) bt Araaf Kamal (Mal) 9-2, 9-2, 9-1.

Under-17: Shohaib Hasan (Pak) bt Kwak Chee Hiam (Sin) 9-0, 9-0, 9-0. Waqar Mehboob (Pak) bt Mubin Shah (Sin) 9/2, 9/0, 9/1.
