KARACHI: JI leader’s killers to be arrested soon: Ibad
KARACHI, June 2: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad said on Thursday that the killers of Aslam Mujahid will be arrested very soon as investigators have almost resolved the case. “Not only we will arrest the killers and take them to the task but also expose the perpetrators of this case,” he said while speaking at the inauguration of an exhibition “Health and Style” at Karachi Expo Centre.
He said the government would also arrest those responsible for the blast at Madinatul Ilm and take them to the task very soon and this case was also nearing conclusion.
Condemning these incidents, he said these were aimed at creating disturbances in the metropolis that was witnessing an improved law and order situation for the past one-and-a-half year.
Giving details of the measures, the governor said the alertness and preparedness of the law-enforcement agencies has prevented a catastrophic situation in the city. The immediate response of the LEAs has averted a major catastrophe at the Madinatul Ilm, he said.
He noted that other two bombers could have caused a large number of casualties at the mosque, if the policemen on duty did not have responded in time. This is, in fact, first incident of its kind where law-enforcement agencies have arrested killers and minimized the damage, he added.
He said that late Aslam Mujahid was very respected businessmen and politician and despite his political affiliation, he (the governor) was deeply grieved over his death.
“The government will not spare his killers,” he added.
Expressing grief over the loss of lives, burning of fast-food restaurant and vehicles by an angry mob after the bomb blast at Madinatul Ilm, the governor said that it was very unfortunate that should not have happened.
He urged the people to show patience and restraint and respect life and property of the people.
“This is not the way to show your reaction to such kinds of terrorist activities which have become a global phenomenon. Behave and conduct like a responsible citizen and show restraint and remain peaceful,” he suggested.—APP
