Zafar shines

KARACHI, June 1: Leg-spinner Mohammad Ali Zafar captured five for 52 as A.J. Worldwide pulled off a sensational two-run victory over KESC in the 14th KCCA Inter-departmental cricket tournament match at the KCCA Stadium here the other day.

KESC, chasing 202 for victory, were all out for 199 in the final over. Tariq Haroon, however, stood out with a magnificent 123 that included eight fours and six sixes.

The result put A.J. Worldwide into the quarterfinals.

In another match, Omer Associates beat Naveena Industries by 62 runs at the TMC ground.

A.J. Worldwide beat KESC by two runs.

A.J. WORLDWIDE 201-9 in 40 overs (Fawad Alam 75, Hasan Saud 63; Mansoor Khan 3-37, Saeed Khan 2-22); KESC 199 in 39.3 overs (Tariq Haroon 123, Arif Mahmood 23; Mohammad Ali Zafar 5-52, Jalat Khan 2-23).

Omer Associates beat Naveena Industries by 62 runs.
