Aziz orders probe into violence


ANKARA, June 1: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Wednesday ordered a thorough enquiry into the recent incidents of violence in Karachi. The prime minister, who is on a three-day official visit to Turkey, spoke to Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad and Chief Minister Dr Ghulam Rahim by telephone and was given the latest details.

Both the governor and chief minister briefed him about measures being taken to check recurrence of such incidents.

Mr Aziz directed the law enforcing agencies to investigate the incidents, arrest those involved and hand down exemplary punishment to the culprits. —APP
