HYDERABAD, June 1: The judicial magistrate-II of Tando Mohammad Khan on Wednesday remanded three people, who had allegedly raped a dumb girl in a railway quarter on Monday night, in police custody for five days.

Police on Tuesday night registered a case under sections 10(3), Zina Hudood Ordinance, and 34, PPC, on the complaint of Ali Hassan Bhatti against Ashraf Mallah, who is said to be a policeman, Saleem and Abdullah Shah.

The accused were produced before the magistrate-II on Wednesday who remanded them in police custody.

When contacted by telephone, the Tando Mohammad Khan police said the girl had been admitted to the Tando Mohammad Khan Civil Hospital due to severe shock and injuries.

Police are still awaiting a medical report of the victim.
