Aziz in Ankara

ANKARA, May 31: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz arrived here on Tuesday on a four-day state visit to Turkey for talks likely to focus on consolidating bilateral ties, specially in the trade and economic fields. He was received at the Ankara international airport by the Turkish information minister who is also the minister-in-waiting, governor of Ankara and Pakistan ambassador to Turkey Syed Iftikhar Huaasin Shah.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will welcome the Pakistani leader at his office. The two leaders are scheduled to meet for a one-to-one meeting and then head their respective delegations at formal talks that will cover the entire gambit of bilateral relations, besides regional and global issues of mutual concern.

Prime Minister Aziz will call on Turkish President Ahmed Necdet Sezer on Wednesday to exchange views on bilateral ties and regional and international issues.—APP
