Two POs shot dead by aides

GUJRAT, May 31: Two proclaimed offenders were shot dead allegedly by their accomplices in Surakhpur village, Tanda, some 60km from here, on Monday evening. Amjad Pehlwan and Khalid Mahmood suspected that their accomplices, Basharat and Nasar, had become police informers. They entered their house and opened indiscriminate fire which was retaliated by the inmates. As a result, Amjad and Khalid died on the spot while Nasar sustained injuries.

ARRESTED: Dinga police claimed on Tuesday to have arrested a drug trafficker, Murad Ali, and recovered 1.5kg of charas from his possession.

LOOTED: Three dacoits looted a house in Bhattian Jattan village of Kakrali here on Monday night. The dacoits entered the house of Ajmal and held up the inmates at gunpoint. They escaped after collecting Rs200,000 in cash and 20-tola gold.
