COLOMBO, May 31: A high-ranking official of Sri Lanka’s military intelligence was shot dead near Colombo on Tuesday. Major Thuwan Nizam Muthaliff, 39, is the highest-ranking military official to have been shot dead since the signing of a ceasefire agreement between the Lankan government and the LTTE in 2002.
