Nazim assumes charge

LARKANA, May 30: The district nazim on Monday assumed offices as the Supreme Court upheld the Sindh High Court’s decision of reinstating them. A three-member bench of the apex court had dismissed the Sindh government’s appeal against the high court’s orders and restored the nazim.

The Sindh government had relieved District Nazim Khursheed Junejo and Naib Nazim Nazir Bughio on December 22 after Larkana was divided into two districts by creating a new district out of it.

Talking to Dawn on Monday, Mr Junejo said he would continue development projects which had been abandoned after his dismissal.
