Wapda lift title

LAHORE, May 29: Wapda’s lifters annexed the 53rd National weightlifting championship securing 74 points at Railways Stadium on Saturday. Wapda claimed six gold and two silver medals in eight events. The hosts Railways scored 58 with two gold, four silver and two bronze medals to make it to the runners-up spot.

Punjab grabbed one silver and four bronze medals to make 34 points for the third spot, while Higher Education Commission (19) and Police (15) finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

NWFP and Islamabad managed seven points, each. Army (five points) and Sindh (three points) were the other participating teams.
