Qasim leaves for treatment

LAHORE, May 29: Olympian goalkeeper, Muhammad Qasim, left for United States on Sunday for treatment of cancer. Qasim, who has been suffering from the fatal disease for the last eight months, is likely to be operated on any day from June 5 to 7 by a Pakistani doctor.

Meanwhile, Qasim appealed to the nation to pray for his health.

He was also grateful to the management of the Pakistan Sports Trust and the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) for raising funds for his treatment amounting to $100,000.
