Imran wants change in NFC formula

By Our Correspondent

SUKKUR, May 29: While urging the government to change the formula for award of NFC to the provinces, the Chairman of the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf, PTI, Imran Khan, has advised the government to eliminate poverty in the country. Addressing a press conference at the Sukkur airport on Sunday, he demanded that the NFC should be awarded to Balochistan keeping in view the poverty ratio and to Sindh according to the revenue generation.

He said that it was the inefficiency on the part of the government that the NFC award had not yet been announced.

He said during his visit to interior of Sindh, he would discuss seat adjustments with the like-minded parties during the forthcoming local bodies polls.

He said that: “we want to field joint candidates who could defeat the government-backed nominees”. Mr Khan said that it was in the larger interest of the country if the general elections were held this year under an independent election commission.

He said despite deployment of 70,000 army personnel in Wana, terrorism could not be contained. He claimed that “our country was not independent as a dictator was ruling us“ adding that in view of this, the CIA had reported that Pakistan would no more be on the global map by the year 2010.

If the prevailing conditions existed, the country may see further disintegration, the TIP chief feared.
