HYDERABAD, May 29: Proceedings of a convention of the People’s Party Parliamentarians in Tando Allahyar came to a halt following altercation between two groups of party workers on Saturday. The groups were backed by Abdul Sattar Bachani and Syed Darbar Ali Shah.

Sindh PPP chief Syed Qaim Ali Shah presided over the convention, organized by divisional party coordinator Abdul Sattar Bachani.

The two groups levelled various allegations against each other.

One group accused Mr Bachani of striking a deal with a rival provincial assembly candidate during the 2002 general election. The Sindh PPP chief termed the incident disappointing on part of all party workers and said it was violation of the party discipline.
