KARACHI: Kidnappers identified

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, May 29: The four alleged kidnappers who had been killed, in what police claimed to be an encounter, in Gulistan-i-Jauhar on Saturday morning were identified on Sunday, and their bodies were handed over to their heirs. Police said that the four persons had kidnapped Dr Menesh Kumar on May 19 with his car near Askari III in the Frere police limits. The police got a tip-off and raided a bungalow in the PIA Society on Saturday morning. The raid was followed by an encounter which ended in the deaths of all the four kidnappers. Dr Menesh was rescued safely.

The in-charge of the Industrial Crime Unit (ICU), DSP Aslam Khan, said that two of the kidnappers were identified as Amanullah Abbasi, 42, and his son, Salimullah Abbasi, 25, and hailed from Khairpur. The two others were identified as Imamdin Jatoi, 42, and Zulfiqar Dahani, 38, both belonging to Larkana.
