Rally against encroachment

SHIKARPUR, May 28: Residents of Haji Latif Shah road, union council-8 Shikarpur, observed a token hunger strike at Lakhi Gate, tower chowk here on Saturday against failure of police and district administration to remove encroachers from the school plot who were creating hindrance in the construction of school building.

PPP leader, Sardar Wahid Bux Bhayo, Nazim UC-8, Amir Bux Bhutto, Chacha Ghulam Sarwar Soomro, Allah Wadhayo Kehar, Iqbal Detho, Saeed Ahmed Soomro, Inamullah Dal, Faqir Badar Bhayo and other social and political workers participated in the hunger strike.

Later, they took out a rally which reached the press club where they staged a demonstration. Speaking on the occasion, the leaders expressed their concern over the attitude of police for not taking action against the land mafia who were creating disturbance in the construction of school building.—Correspondent
