KARACHI, May 28: A model school for the children of fishermen will be set up to train them on modern techniques of education. This was stated here by the managing committee member of Fishermen Cooperative Society, Shujat Ali Qarni, during a visit to a secondary school in the Lyari area on Saturday night.

He said top priority was being given to education and health sectors and in this regard efforts were being made to provide maximum facilities to the fishermen communities by upgrading the existing facilities.

Mr Qarni said efforts were also being made to acquire a suitable site for establishing a model school for the children of fishermen. He further stated that a proposal was also under consideration to adopt a school for this purpose.

Mr Qarni told the teaching staff to pay full attention to the character building of the students, saying that students are the assets of the nation. He stressed the need of creating awareness about the importance of discipline among the students, saying that no nation could progress without discipline.
