KARACHI, May 28: Dr Israr Ahmad, chief of Tanzeem-i-Islami, has stated that incidents of desecration of the Holy Quran by the US soldiers were an attempt to discredit the Holy Quran and the Holy Prophet (SAW) as after the demise of Soviet Union and death of Communism, the West (US and Europe) was considering Islam a potential threat to its capitalist system.

“Islam is not only a religion, but a complete way of life with sovereignty to Allah, a just economic, social and political system derived the from the Holy Quran which has become an equal threat to capitalism which is based on usury, private property, free economy, gambling, and mixed culture devoid of ethics and morality”, he pointed out.

Dr Israr Ahmad, who was addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club on Saturday afternoon, recalled a brief history of hostility of Christianity towards Islam beginning from the first crusade in the first millennium during which six wars were fought and Muslims lost Al-Quds which was taken back after 88 years.

He said in a bid to launch a last crusade against Islam on one side, defence pacts had been reorganized and expanded, and on the other, according to Monthly “Trumpet of Philadelphia” the official organ of US protestants, it was a bid to revive the old Catholic empire.

“This is why a calculated publicity campaign had been launched on media of such heinous crimes to get endorsement to its aggression by simple people of their countries who work for five days and remain busy in having goodtime for two days who totally depend on electronic media for formulating their opinion.

He said another purpose of the publicity drive of the heinous crime of desecration of Holy Quran, whose five such incidents were conceded by the US Defence Department Pentagon, had an important background to check whether Muslims were awake to guard their faith.

Dr Ahmad referred to a report submitted to the US Foreign department by the highest thinktank of the US “The Rand Corporation” in which Muslims were divided in four categories i.e. fundamentalists, those who considered Islam a complete code of life, 2: Traditionalist class which had interest with the religion as a faith only and were not interested with its just, moderate and collective system, 3: Modernists who were interpreting the definition of Islam which is compatible to the western culture and 4: Secularists who were completely westernized.

In the report, the US foreign office was advised to crush Muslims in the first category, and the second category be kept divided through their differences while fourth category of Muslims should be assisted and given exposure over electronic media.

Dr Ahmad also referred to a campaign against him by so-called claimants of “Mehdviat” Attiqur Rehman accusing him (Dr Ahmad) of not considering Holy Quran above mistake and on the other side certain Ulema had hurled allegations on him and challenged for “Manazra”.

He disowned the claim of Attiqur Rehman and said that Manazra had never solved any issue.
