TOBA TEK SINGH, May 27: Differences between District Nazim Chaudhry Muhammad Ashfaq and Punjab Forest Minister and PML district president Dr Ashfaqur Rehman aggravated on Thursday night. Tehsil Nazim Chaudhry Muhammad Rafiq had refused PML youth wing president Aleem Adil Sheikh to hold wing’s convention at the Tehsil Municipal Park on Jhang Road.

The TMA staff reportedly locked the gates, but the procession led by Punjab Forest Minister Dr Ashfaq and Aleem Adil Sheikh broke into the park. Youth wing workers also chanted slogans against the district nazim and tehsil nazim.

Speaking on the occasion, youth wing district president Asif Saeed Chaudhry announced that his workers would oppose Chaudhry Ashfaq in the upcoming elections for the district nazim slot.

He demanded that Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi should award the party ticket for the district nazim slot to Col Naveed Mushtaq Gill, brother-in-law of Dr Ashfaq.

Mr Saeed also blamed Chaudhry Ashfaq, Chaudhry Rafiq and other group members for their involvement in alleged corruption during their tenure.

Punjab Forest Minister Dr Ashfaqur Rehman, Punjab Youth Wing president Zafrullah Alvi, secretary Raza Ali Shamas, Aleem Adil Sheikh, Ali Qasim, Naveed Alam and Salman Farsi also spoke.
