Rahim becomes ninth youngest Test debutant


LONDON, May 26: Bangladesh batsman Mushfiqur Rahim became the ninth youngest Test debutant when he was selected for the first Test against England at Lord’s here on Thursday.

Rahim, also a wicket-keeper but playing in this match — Bangladesh’s first Test in England — as a batsman only was also the youngest Test debutant at Lord’s.

  • 14 years 227 days — Hasan Raza, Pakistan v Zimbabwe at Faisalabad, 1996-97

  • 15 years 124 days — Mushtaq Mohammad, Pakistan v West Indies at Lahore, 1958-59
