SHEIKHUPURA, May 26: Bhekhi police on Thursday registered cases against two PTCL officials and executives of the pay phone company (Fone 4-U) for defrauding thousands of clients.
Cases were registered against Shahnoor Communication PVT’s managing director Ashfaq Anwar, his brother Iftikhar Anwar and their nephew Khurram Shahzad, Lahore’s PTCL Centre Telecom Region general manager Rana Shah Muhammad and CTR accounts director Mehboob Ahmad Thabal on the complaint of Waqas, the chief executive of Fone 4-U customer service centre, Feroze Wattowan.
The complainant alleged in his plaint that Fone 4-U executives had defrauded their clients with the connivance of PTCL officials. He further alleged that PTCL officials did not bother to take action against the defaulters of the pay phone company.
Further investigation is under way. Police slammed: The journalists community in Sheikhupura and Warburton ripped to shreds the Racecourse police, Lahore, for implicating Sheikhupura-based journalist in fabricated cases.
At a press conference here, Punjab Correspondent Union chairman Syed Kausar Javaid Bijnori said that his son Faisal Javaid was booked by the police when he was going to his sister’s house in Lahore from Warburton. Later, the Racecourse police implicated him in fabricated cases.
Still behind bars and facing trial in an Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore, Mr Bijnori said that cases against his son were lodged at the behest of an influential political figure.
