JACOBABAD, May 25: Supply of natural gas to Jacobabad was suspended after a fire broke out in the 4-inch diameter pipeline near the Quetta road here on Wednesday. A Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) official said that the fire engulfed the main plastic pipeline after someone accidentally threw a match stick on it.

As a result of the fire, PTCL’s optical fibre cable was also damaged causing disruption to hundreds of telephone lines in Sindh and Balochistan.

The SSGC official said that a team of experts from Larkana was summoned to repair the damaged pipeline.
