KHAIRPUR, May 25: The president of the People’s Party Parliamentarians, Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, has said that law and order situation in the province was deteriorating and vehicle snatching and robberies have become order of the day. Speaking to party workers on Tuesday in the Sami village, Sobhodero, he said the country had turned into a police state, and no one is safe even in his home.

He said people of Sindh, particularly the interior, were passing miserable life and were fed up with the present government.

He said bifurcation of districts and tribal disputes were part of the government’s policy to prolong the rule.

He termed the government claim of improving the economy hollow and said people were committing suicides due to unemployment and price hike.

He said there was no hope for fair elections but PPP would take part in the local bodies elections and work out seat adjustment with ARD.

The present government was dreaming to dislodge the PPP, like Gen Zia-ul-Haq, but would not succeed in it, he concluded.

RALLY: Muttahida Mazdoor Federation Khairpur, consisting of Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Central Labour Union, Shah Abdul Latif University Employees Union, Taluka Municipal Workers Union and other labour unions took out a procession on Wednesday.

The procession started from Phool Bagh and after passing through Panj Gulla chowk, Chattery chowk, Mall road and civic centre reached at the press club.
