Kenyan recall pace duo

NAIROBI, May 24: Pacemen Ragheb Aga and Jimmy Kamande were recalled on Tuesday to bolster the Kenyan team to face Namibia in a rescheduled Africa zone ICC Intercontinental cup qualifier in Windhoek next month. Kamande has not played for Kenya for nearly a year but chief selector Tom Tikolo said the former medium-pacer had shown improvement in his form and had big potential as a genuine spinner and batsman.

“Kamande would prove useful with his spin and in getting the runs in Windhoek,” Tikolo said.

The two countries, who meet on June 3-5, share top spot after both beat Uganda in their opening matches.

Aga was left out of the match in Kampala after leading Kenya as stand-in captain for the inaugural cup semifinals and finals in the UAE last November.

The selectors have left out Tanmy Mishra, the 17-year-old batsman and opener David Obuya, the youngest of three brothers in the national team.
