Indian umpire warms up for Test debut


LONDON, May 24: Indian umpire K. Hariharan is preparing for his Test debut with yoga, swimming and visiting a gym ahead of first Test between England and Bangladesh. He also attended net practice sessions of English and Bangladeshi teams with an aim to get to know players and officials.

“My preparations are going on in right direction,” he said.

It is a rare for an umpire to make his Test debut, and Hariharan is naturally excited about match at Lord’s, lord of world cricket.

Australia’s Daryl Harper will be other on-field umpire for Test match.—Agencies
