KARACHI: Documentary festival


KARACHI, May 24: The first European Union documentary festival will be held in Karachi from May 27. The five-day festival being hosted by the Royal Netherlands Embassy on behalf of the European Union will be held at Pakistan Institute of International Affairs (PIIA) and will be inaugurated by PIIA Chairman Fatehyab Ali Khan at the premises of the institute.

The aim of the festival is to create a better understanding among Pakistani audience about diverse and cosmopolitan European culture, stimulate debate on similarities, differences, and contribute to mutual understanding and respect.

Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri would attend the concluding session of the festival on May 31.

Ambassador of the Netherlands Marcel Kurpershock said the festival was aimed to contribute to intercultural dialogue by showing various aspects of European society.—PPI
