LARKANA, May 23: An student of class sixth, Aqib Rajput, has safely reached home after remaining 85 days in captivity of kidnappers. Shahdadkot DPO Noor Ahmed Pechuho told newsmen on Monday that it was police pressure that had compelled the bandits to release the boy.

“We had paid no ransom and neither the recovery was the result of any deal”, he said.

The DPO said bandit Arbab alias Khumari Panhwar was the main character in the kidnapping of the boy.

Aqib Rajput said the kidnappers had never beaten him during the captivity but they kept him in chains in nights.

The little boy showed his bruised arms due to chains.

The boy was kidnapped on March 3 in Laloo Raunk town and recovered from kutcha area on Sunday.

The DPO said four people were involved in the crime and their names were opened in daily diaries of police station.

They included Deedar alias Deedoo Mughiri, Amir Bakhsh Abro alias Butto, Latif Khokhar and Anwar alias Jogi Abro.

ACCIDENT: A man, Bakhshal Mangi, was killed when the driver of a van lost control over the steering after its tie-rod broke near the railway crossing on the outskirts of Qambar town on Monday.

The deceased was manager of the Muslim Commercial Bank, Qambar branch.

The driver and other commuters remained unhurt.

WOMAN DIES: In a fire exchange between a gang of armed dacoits and villagers Nasirabad town, a woman was killed.

The villagers noticed the movements of alleged criminals in the Aadho Lashari village near Nasirabad, 40 kilometres off here.

As the villagers challenged them, the criminals opened fire, which was retaliated, resulting into serious bullet injuries to a woman, Ms Hasso wife of Ali Hassan Awan.

She was immediately removed to the Chandka Medical College Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
