HYDERABAD, May 23: Moderate to heavy rains lashed four districts of Sindh on Monday afternoon, breaking the weeklong heatwaves. With the first drop of rain, power supply was disconnected in areas of Dadu, Naushahro Feroze and Nawabshah and parts of Larkana district.

Reports reaching here from Dadu said areas of Khudabad, Chandhan wah, Phulji, Makhdoom Bilawal, Jhaloo, Johi and parts of Bhan Syedabad received heavy rains in the afternoon.

In Naushahro Feroze district, Padidan, Mithiani, Bhirya Road, Tharushah, Kandiaro, Mehrabpur and Halani received moderate to heavy rains.

In Naushahro Feroze town gutters were overflowing, turning the main roads into rivulets.

In Nawabshah, 5mm rain was recorded in 25 minutes. Humidity was recorded at 45 per cent.

The power supply remained suspended till the filing of this report.

The weather became pleasant as the city during the past one week had experienced sizzling heat with temperature going up to 48 degree centigrade.
