WASHINGTON, May 23: The US Army came under fire on Monday from parents of a star American football player who said officials lied about their son’s death in a ‘friendly fire’ incident in Afghanistan and interfered with an investigation to cover up the truth. In an interview with the Washington Post, the parents of Pat Tillman expressed anger over the way the army presented their son’s death as heroic when senior officers had evidence that he had been killed by American fire.—AFP
