ISLAMABAD, May 22: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has asked the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to probe into the allegations of fake degrees submitted by Minister of State for Religious Affairs Aamir Liaquat Hussain. In an application to NAB Chairman Lt-Gen (retired) Munir Hafeez, Advocate Chaudhry Mohammad Aslam on behalf of the PPP said it was alleged by an Urdu daily that Aamir Liaquat Hussain “purchased” fake degrees to contest general election 2002.

Several other articles have also been published in national newspapers alleging that Mr Hussain submitted documents knowingly to be forged, it added.

The application said submitting or tendering a document knowingly to be a forged amounted to a criminal act and was punishable under the law.
