SWABI, May 22: The district nazim of Swabi, Jehan Zeb Khan, has said that the “negative approach” of the opposition in the district council has affected the working of the district government. He told journalists that the opposition’s protest walkout from a recent district council session was without any justification because development funds were equally distributed among all 56 union councils and women councillors would also get their share.

He said that except the budget session and fund distribution session the opposition had taken no interest in the district government activities and whenever we did something good it was criticized.

He, however, said the good news was that the treasury benches enjoyed people’s trust and the forthcoming local bodies’ elections would prove this.

He said a decision to make alliances with other parties would be taken by the party (ANP) high command.

He rejected the impression that the MMA had emerged as a key player in district affairs after the general election.
