Ali Asad, Fahim hit centuries

KARACHI, May 21: Superb centuries by Ali Asad and Mohammad Fahim guided Zone-II Whites to a comprehensive 190-run win against Zone-I Greens in the KCCA Under-19 Inter-zonal cricket tournament at the YMCA ground on Friday. Ali Asad scored 122 with 13 boundaries and Fahim made 102, including six fours, to help Zone-II Whites reach 316 for three in 50 overs.

Zone-I Greens were bowled out for 126 in 45 overs with slow left-armer Athar Hussain picking up four for 18.

In the other match, Zone-V Whites defeated Zone-I Blues by 82 runs at the Landhi Gymkhana Ground.

Summarised scores:

Zone-II Whites beat Zone-I Greens by 190 runs.

ZONE-II WHITES 316-3 in 50 overs (Ali Asad 122, Mohammad Fahim 102, Usman Farhat 47 not out; Kamran Nawaz 2-67); ZONE-I GREENS 126 in 45 overs (Yahya Butt 33, Kamran Nawaz 28; Athar Hussain 4-18, Shamir Khattak 2-20).

Zone-V Whites beat Zone-I Blues by 82 runs.

ZONE-V WHITES 219 in 49.5 overs (Arsalan Hussain 74, Salman Hafeez 40, Shaharyar Zafar 37; Hasan Abbas 5-72, Tajuddin 4-73); ZONE-I BLUES 137 in 34.5 overs (Hasan Abbas 48, Aamir Naqi 25; Danish Zamir 2-24, Mohammad Asif 2-25, Mohammad Nasir 2-31).
