LAHORE, May 21: Six goals by Azra including a hat trick helped Faisalabad Whites outclass Dera Ghazi Khan 10-0 in the Chief Minister’s Gold Cup women hockey tournament pool match at the National Hockey Stadium on Saturday. Aqeela drew first blood in the 8th minute before Azra scored hat trick banging home in the 9th, 16th and the 25th minutes.

Aqeela made it 5-0 by scoring her second in the 28th minute. Azra struck her fourth in the 32nd minute to make it 6-0 at breather.

Shumaila sounded the board soon after resumption in the 36th minute. Faisalabad surged 8-0 ahead when Saima Khan was on target in the 42nd minute. Azra scored back-to-back goals in the 46th and the 49th minute to seal the fate of the match.

In a match between two semifinalist teams, two goals by Ayesha Arif guided Lahore Whites to a 4-0 win over Bahawalpur.

Ayesha found the net twice in a space of three minutes to give an early 2-0 lead to Lahore Whites. She scored the first in the second minute and added the second three minutes later.

Neelman increased the lead 3-0 in the 25th minute. Amna Meer completed the tally in the 38th minute.

In the third match, Rawalpindi trounced Multan 2-0. Sadia Khalid (20th minute) and Monaza (37th minute) scored one goal apiece.

The semifinals will be played on Monday after a rest on Sunday. Faisalabad Colours will meet Bahawalpur, while Lahore Whites will take on Lahore Colours.
