Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, May 21: Berthing activity at the wharves on the Karachi port on Saturday was maintained on the higher side where half a dozen ships were berthed. According to KPT sources, two container vessels are due on Sunday and two on Monday.

The ships, which were berthed included Rickmar Dubai, Wan Hai-263, to unload and load containers, Pearl to load rice, Venuzs, Oriental Kerria, and Chem Lily to unload chemicals.

Six vessels, Ricmar Dubai, Sinar Bontang, Harmony, Orient Prosperity, Taisier and Chem Lily departed on Saturday, while Corin Thaikos, and Cape Noli are due to sail out on Sunday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was modest as the total tonnage fell to 41,888 tons comprising 15.961 tons of export cargo including 3,258 tons of rice and 1,138 tons of cement and 28,927 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Sunday: Bunga Bidara, and Kota Mesra, with containers. The following ships are due on Monday: Global Prosperity and Ever Guard, with containers.
