GUJRANWALA, May 19: Punjab Food Minister Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal has said the target of procurement of wheat would be achieved at any cost. He said at a department meeting here on Thursday the pace of wheat procurement was satisfactory throughout the province and target would be met.
He claimed that the department had achieved 47 per cent of procurement target while the remaining would be fulfilled within a few weeks.
He said he would check procurement centres and godowns for himself to review the situation.
BAN DEMANDED: The Shabab-i-Milli demanded that the government should ban marathon to be run in Lahore on Saturday otherwise they would stop it forcibly.
A meeting held here on Thursday said the NGO which was sponsoring the marathon wanted clash with religious parties and the government over the issue and some women who were leading such activities wanted to get more funds from donors in the name of so-called human rights.
They demanded that their colleagues who were arrested by police in Lahore for disrupting the marathon recently should be released immediately.
