Delegation visits GIK Institute

SWABI, May 19: A delegation of the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS) visited the Ghulam Ishaq Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology and held wide-ranging talks with the management of the Institute.

The PIEAS delegation was led by its Rector Dr Muhammad Aslam while the GIK Institute was represented by its Rector Dr Abdullah Sadiq.

All the Deans and Pro-Rectors participated in the talks and discussions pertaining to mutual collaboration in the field of engineering education. Main purpose of the visit was to identify areas of mutual interests and pave way for collaboration and interaction in different disciplines of engineering sciences and technology.

The two sides agreed to benefit from the facilities available at each other’s campus for students and research projects and hold workshops, seminars and technical courses for research students.

The delegation also visited labs of the Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Sciences Engineering, Engineering Sciences and Library.

They lauded outstanding facilities available at GIKI labs and said that those who acquire engineering education here would play a key role in strengthening of the country economy.
