Tanvir stars

KARACHI, May 17: Tanvir Hussain gave a fine all-round display to help Navy defeat Naveena Industries by 193 runs in the 14th KCCA Inter-departmental cricket tournament at the TMC ground on Monday. Tanvir struck 77 with nine boundaries as Navy made 292 for six in 40 overs. Alam Khan blasted five boundaries in scoring 56 while Ahmed Rahmani contributed 53 that included six fours.

Naveena Industries replied with just 99 in 21.1 overs. Tanvir bagged four for 24.

In another fixture, Central Police easily beat City District Government Karachi (CDGK) by 91 runs at the UBL Sports Complex. The highlight of this game was Mohammad Anwar’s 101, which contained 10 fours and two sixes, for the winners.

Navy beat Naveena Industries by 193 runs.

NAVY 292-6 in 40 overs (Tanvir Hussain 77, Alam Khan 56, Ahmed Rahmani 53, Ali Asad 26, Shaharyar Ghani 25; Danish Kalim 2-58); NAVEENA INDUSTRIES 99 in 21.1 overs (Mohammad Khalid 31; Tanvir Hussain 4-24, Farman Shah 2-40).

Central Police beat CDGK by 91 runs.
