KARACHI, May 17: The Pakistan Medical Association has urged Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz to intervene in the affairs of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and form a high-power committee to investigate the matters. In a letter sent to Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, PMA Secretary General Dr Sher Shah Syed expressed concern about the present situation of harassment of PMDC by the Senate committee regarding a private medical college. He stated that it was very difficult for the PMDC to work under pressure of Senate, while it had no right to decide about the job of registrar of council or to pressurize PMDC for the registration of quacks. — PPI
