Asif on goal spree

LAHORE, May 15: Five goals by Asif Yar Tiwana and a four-goal rally in the last chukker helped RC Cola win the Equestrian Cup polo beating Guard Rice 7-6 in the final on Sunday. The losers gained a 3-2 lead in the first chukker.

Taimur Ali Malik , who scored four goals for the losers struck all three goals to complete a hat trick. For the winners Ali Malik and Asif banged home a goal each.

Guard upheld the lead in the second chukker 4-3 as both teams scored a goal each.

Asif pumped in his second goal for the winners while Junaid Ahmad hit the target for the losers.

Guard consolidated the lead 6-3 in the third chukker when Naveed M Sheikh and Taimur scored a goal each.

But RC staged a remarkable comeback in the fourth chukker scoring four goals in a row to win. Asif scored first converting a 60 yards penalty hit. Sufi Mohammad Haris reduced the lead further 6-5 by scoring a field goal before Asif scored back-to-back goals to complete the tally.
