HYDERABAD, May 15: Three alleged bandits were killed in an encounter with police in an area under the Chalghari police station on Sunday. DPO Ghulam Hyder Jamali identified the bandits as Mohammad Bux Khoso, Farid Khoso and Mann Khoso. Their accomplices escaped.

The encounter, which lasted for two hours, took place near Sama Keti.

The DPO said the gang was involved in the killing of policemen Imdad Ali Khaskheli and Noor Mohammad Soho. He said they were also involved in other criminal activities, including looting of passengers on the National Highway and were required in cases registered at different police stations of Matiari, Hyderabad and other areas.

A heavy contingent of police from Tando Jam, Police Lines and Hatri participated in the encounter.

Two Kalashnikovs, one double barrel gun and bullets were recovered from the bandits.
