KARACHI, May 15: Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui on Sunday visited the medical camp set up by the Khidmat-i-Khalq Foundation (KKF) at Karachi Central Prison on the directive of the MQM chief, Altaf Hussein. About 4000 inmates were examined and provided necessary medical assistance at the camp.
The facilities made available at the camp included general medical, surgical, ENT, cardiac, dermatology and chest treatment, besides blood transfusion, eye clinic, dental clinic, ultrasound, ECG and vaccination.
Appreciating the volunteers of KKF and Medical Aid Committee of the MQM, the minister said their efforts reflected the spirit of selfless service to the cause of humanity.
The minister took round different parts of the jail and took notice of grievances of a physically impaired prisoner, Shakoorullah, son of Shamoon. Mr Siddiqui directed the jail authorities to ensure immediate shifting of the prisoner to Sukkur Jail, which is close to the inmate’s residence so that his family members could look after him easily.
