KARACHI: Upgrade of burns centre promised


KARACHI, May 15: Sindh Health Adviser Faisal Malik has assured all government support to raise the Burns Centre of Civil Hospital Karachi as a Centre of Excellence. Talking to the Friends of Burns Centre, contributors to the establishment of the state-of-art facility in the government hospital, during his visit to the centre, the adviser mentioned that an additional medical superintendent was being appointed for the burns centre to ensure its smooth running.

Abdullah Feroze, President Friends of Burns Centre, expressing his gratitude for the constant government support towards the cause said that there was no shortage of staff and medicines, as adequate funding had been allocated to hire the required staff and arrange medication and other relevant medical support for patients referred and admitted to the Burns Centre of the Civil Hospital.

Giving more details on regular refurbishment of the facility, he said that a sterilize lens machine would start functioning within a month and a pharmacist had already been appointed.

According to him the burns centre will also acquire ISO-9002 certificate by June and would be the country’s first certified health facility.—APP
