KARACHI, May 15: Over 1,500 inhabitants of the Edhi Village located off the Super highway enjoyed kabab paratha on Sunday. Abdul Sattar Edhi also joined them. The special feast at the Edhi village coincided with the ‘International Family Day’, which was observed on May 15.

Over 300 destitute children, 1,200 elderly and mentally retarded live at the Edhi village spread over several hundred acres.

Senior official of the Foundation Rizwan Edhi said the village’s dwellers had asked for the kabab paratha and halwa for the day.

“Though it coincided with the International Family Day, we had not planned to celebrate the day. It was just a bara khana at the Edhi village, Rizwan remarked.
