ISLAMABAD, May 14: President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Saturday urged the United States to carry out a thorough investigation into the reported sacrilege of the Holy Quran by the staff in Guantanamo Bay in order to identify those responsible for the crime.
Taking notice of the incident, the president and the premier demanded exemplary punishment for the culprits and said it should be ensured that such incidents did not take place again. The demand came when Mr Aziz called on Gen Musharraf and exchanged views with him on the prevailing political environment in the country and other matters of national importance. According to an official press release, the two leaders expressed satisfaction over the state of the country’s economy.
