RIYADH, May 14: More than 2,000 illegal residents, including criminals and prostitutes, were nabbed in a security swoop in Jeddah on Saturday. The arrests bring the total number of those held so far in the month-long security operation in various parts of Jeddah to 6,000. Some 1,000 members of the security forces were involved in the operation, which covered 600 houses dotted over 15 districts. The arrested included Africans, Pakistanis and Indians.
