KOHAT, May 13: A court on Thursday handed down life terms to two men who had forced a woman to take off her clothes and walk naked in the street. The sentence was passed some four years after the incident. The court also fined them Rs20,000 each and warned that if they failed to pay up they would have to spend another six months in prison.
Judge Sufia Waqar Khattak of the additional district and sessions court in Kohat said that Mohammad Amin and Saddar Mohammad had forced Bad Shah Begum, 35, to walk through Shakardarra Town’s bazaar without clothes, because they wanted to punish her for something done by her husband. It is learnt that the woman’s husband had named them in a first-information report that he had lodged with police some years ago. The police after arresting the two accused had registered case under relevant laws.
During the four-year trial the accused were represented by Tariq Khattak advocate, while Hamid Khan Afridi appeared for the victim. Both the convicts were sent to the district prison soon after the verdict.
ONE KILLED: A man was killed and another seriously injured in firing incident in Jangle Khel area on Thursday.
Amanullah was killed and Syed Muzrib Shah was injured when their foes allegedly opened fire at them near their house.
