KARACHI: Probe into education dept affairs ordered


KARACHI, May 13: The Sindh Education and Literacy Department on Friday announced to constitute four probe committees to investigate illegal promotions, appointments, awarding of selection grades, move-overs and increments, through illegal orders, in the department.

According to a notification issued from the office of the Secretary Education, Muhammad Hashim Laghari, the first committee comprising Dr Mehboob Shaikh and Syed Aley Muhammad will probe affairs of the education department officials in Karachi, Jamshoro, Dadu, Thatta and Badin.

The second committee comprising Iqbal Hussain Durani and Muhammad Hasan would investigate affairs of the department’s officials in Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allayar and Matiari.

The third committee containing Tufail Ahmed Jummani and Zamir Ahmed Khoso would probe allegations in Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Ummerkot, Tharparkar and Khairpur.

And, the fourth committee consisting of Kahlil-ur-Rahman Dawoodpoto and another unnamed official would investigate into similar allegations in Sukkur, Ghotki, Kashmore, Jacobad, Shikarpur and Larkana.

These committees will investigate cases of illegal promotions and identify persons responsible for such illegal acts, the notification says, adding that they will further recommend further processing of such cases in accordance with rules and regulations.
